Station R: Cruising Under Sale

For several years the center of our water activities was Sale Creek Marina, and indeed we still consider it "home." The friendly, laid-back atmosphere of Sale Creek makes it one of the most relaxing marinas and boatyards around.

Although there is a covered dock with some power boats there, Sale Creek is the "sail boat place" and a great place to buy and keep a boat. It seems that everyone who owns a sailboat within a hundred miles of Chattanooga keeps it at one time or another at Sale Creek. The area offers the best sailing on Lake Chickamauga, wider and less crowded than downstream at Chattanooga and much closer to the secluded natural settings of places such as Hiwassee Island. In fact, there's a great anchorage within rowing distance of the marina.
